What is Communities First?

Communities First is the Welsh Assembly Government’s flagship programme to improve the quality of life and opportunities within targeted communities in Wales.  Under the Communities First principles the improvement of these areas is driven by local people and organisations. Each scheme has a Local Partnership Group made up of community members and local voluntary, statutory and private sector organisations.

 

Ethnic Minority Communities First

Key themes of the programme are Employment & Education, Health & Well-being and Community Cohesion. The programme works in partnership to improve the lives oft  people from minority ethnic communities living in Cardiff.

Family Circle

Cardiff's Family Group Meeting Project, called 'Family Circle' has been operational since 2000. It is part of the work of Tros Gynnal.

The project is a partnership between Tros Gynnal and the City and County of Cardiff and the funding comes from the Cardiff Cymorth Fund and Cardiff County Council.

All areas of childcare are considered. Referrals are taken from any professional or family member. The target age group is 0-18.
